Amaretto Bars

These are great at Christmas or any other time of the year.

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
3/4 cup cold butter or margarine
1 tbsp cornstarch
3 to 4 tbsp amaretto liqueur
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 (6 oz) pkg semi-sweet chocolate
1 (3 oz) can flaked coconut
1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13-by 9-inch baking pan.
In large bowl, combine flour and sugar.
With pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until crumbly.
Press mixture firmly on bottom of prepared pan.
Bake 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir cornstarch into amaretto; stir in sweetened condensed milk.
Pour mixture evenly over prepared crust.
Top with chocolate chips, coconut and almonds; press down firmly.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes longer, or until golden brown.
Cool in pan on wire rack.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
To serve, cut into bars.
